Easy Pasta Recipe
Pasta was something I have loved and thought can be made well only at restaurants. Once Maggi Pasta came into picture I loved the taste of it and then definitely tried the pasta recipe with white sauce from scratch. However I realized my daughter does not like pasta with white sauce. What a conflict of taste for both of us. That is when one of my aunt made a simple pasta with tomato and onion. Voila!!!that's exactly what I was looking for and I tried it too. Its yummy and I dont mind it too though my heart is in Pasta with White Sauce:-)
Ingredients:
1) Pasta - 1 1/2 cups
2) Onion - 2
3) Tomato - 2
4) Green Chilli - 1(I did not add this is as it was for my kid)
5) Ginger - 1 inch piece
6) Garlic - 2-3 pods (You can exclude ginger and garlic if your kid does not like the taste of it).
7) Milk - 4 spoons
8) Grated Cheese - 3-4 spoons
9) Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
10) Salt - As per taste
Method:
Wash pasta in cold water 2- 3 times. Boil Pasta in water till its done. Any kind of pasta can be used but just remember the bigger pasta like fusilli etc have a longer cooking time. Normally pasta should be done in maximum about 8 mins. Drain the water and keep aside.
Slice onion and tomato. Take 2 spoons of oil in a pan(I used non-stick). Put in the onion and tomato and fry in medium flame till its soft. Take it out and grind along with ginger,garlic and green chilli. Now take 1 spoon of oil in pan and add the ground mixture into it and fry for about 2-3 mins. Now add turmeric, red chilli powder and salt and fry for another min. Add the milk and let the mixture break into gravy format. Now add the cooked pasta and mix well. Switch of flame and add the cheese. As the cheese melts your pasta is ready.
Pasta is best served hot. This recipe serves about 2-3 people.
