Mandzai Kenyan Doughnuts
As its fun to try out new recipes I keep browsing net for them. Another primary push for this is to make something different for my daughter. As for everyone after a kid is born I have been feeling to make things instead of giving her store bought stuff. So this recipe is an adaptation of all the net results in the name of the dish. However I have definitely done based on the taste at home. By the way I definitely don't know how this dish originally should taste but I liked the look and taste of this.
Ingredients:
1) Whole Wheat Flour/ All Purpose Flour (I used wheat) - 1 Cup
2) Castor Sugar - 1/2 Cup
3) Baking Powder - 1 Spoon
4) Milk
5) Yoghurt
6) Water
Method
Along with the flour ingredients 4, 5& 6 need to be added very spoon by spoon as it can make the batter liquidy. First 1 spoon of each and then slowly add and mix at the same time till a smooth dough is prepared. This dough can be kept aside for about 5 mins. After that make into small balls and knead it and give it the shape you want. I used cookie cutters to make some shapes. Deep fry them. Sprinkle icing sugar on top of it and yes your doughnuts are read to eat:-)
